Martin Luther King Jr.
Today, as most people know is Martin Luther King Jr.'s Birthday. He would have been 76 years old today. To this day, King remains a controversial symbol of the African American civil rights struggle. He believed that non violence was the only logical way to the solution of the race problem in the United States. Dr. King's words still ring true today. We can give new life to "The Dream," following the path of Dr. King. He had a dream that one day this nation will rise up and live true to it's creed that all men should be treated equal. He had a dream that his own children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character. He hoped that with faith we will be able to transform the jangling discords of our nation into a beautiful symphony of brotherhood. With faith we will be able to work together, to pray together, to struggle together, to go to jail together, to stand up for freedom together, knowing that we will be free one day. We still struggle with racism today, not as bad as it was, but Dr. King's words still live on and they always will. Happy Birthday Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.!
"Free at last! Free at last! Thank God Almighty, we are free at last!"
" Evil can be cast out not by man alone nor dictatorial God who invades our lives, but when we open our door and let God through Christ to enter."--Martin Luther King
