Ophelia

This hurricane went right over cousin Rev. Joes' house for hours and hours. We emailed them this morning and everyone is okay. Some garage damage and the back yard being a mess is the extent of it all. He tells me that they always get some kind of damage living close to the coast. It's very scary to me seeing everything that Katrina did and all. We're still trying to donate to her victims. It seems no one is taking clothes. Odd! I can't express enough my joys that everyone is okay from Ophelia. Mother Nature is sure doing her thing!
glad to hear that everyone is safe.
they're not collecting old clothes because they say that it's too much work and money to transport, sort through, and distribute them. (i wondered the same thing then saw something about it). the best thing you can do is send money, even a few $$. you can always donate the old clothes to goodwill! :)

Yeah, I'm glad they are safe!
Yeah, I know the best thing you can do is send money. We heard on the news that they were accepting clothes and furniture. The thing is: The Red Cross here in ABQ isn't accepting any of it, because they have no where to store anything. So, it's odd because they said it on the news...Then, when you go to actually take it somewhere; they aren't taking anything! So, that's why it's Odd. I wanted the kids clothes to go to Katrina victims. They're not old at all. They're things they could actually use (like socks!) It would be different if you had money to donate. We don't! I did the few $$ thing at work...But wanted to do more. They're taking them we just have to figure out where. :)
p/s I always give to Good Will as well!

I didn't even see your post, Pa! Oops...Sorry! Yeah, I don't want to witness anything like that either. I hope and pray that they stay safe while they continue to live there. Crazy how he was trying to get us to live there too. AHHHHH! No thanks! We'll go visit though and have some fried turkey! YUM! I can't wait!
