"The Trap of Love" John 15:18-16:4
What is the sorrow of your life?
I. The World wants us to desire it's business.
John 15:18-19 "If the world hates you, keep in mind that it hated me first. If you belonged to the world, it would love you as it's own. As it is, you do not belong to the world, but I have chosen you out of the world. That is why the world hates you."
II. The world wants to define our happiness.
John 15:20-21 "Remember the words I spoke to you: 'No servant is greater than his master. ' If they persecuted me, they will persecute you also. If they obeyed my teaching, they will obey your also. They will treat you this way because of my name, for they do not know the One who sent me."
III. The world wants to determine how we find forgiveness.
John 15:22-24 "If I had not come and spoken to them, they would not be guilty of sin. Now, however, they have no excuse for their sin. He who hates me hates my Father as well. If I had not done among them what no one else did, they would not be guilty of sin. But now they have seen these miracles, and yet they have hated both me and my Father.
IV. The world wants to destroy our witness.
John 15:27 "And you also must testify, for you have been with me from the beginning. "
John. 16:2 "They will put you out of the synagogue; in fact, a time is coming when anyone you kills you will think he is offering a service to God. "
I told you it was huge! "A couple that shares sorrows, cut the sorrows in half. A couple who has joy, the joy is doubled." Stick with your commitments no matter what they are. The world today teaches you differently, because it's changed the standards. What is accepted today, was not accepted 15 years ago. Think about it!
So, like I was saying...Church was good. After Church Charles, went to a meeting at church. He's going to be an Usher. Yep, that's right! Also, my Bible Study is tomorrow. It's "Breaking Free" a Beth Moore study, of course. I can't wait! I thought I wasn't going to be able to attend, because Charles, has his knee surgery, but the hospital just called and they scheduled it for the afternoon; so I can go. I'm also an "in reach" person for the study. If someone doesn't show up, then I call them to make sure that everything is okay and see if they need prayer. I'm excited! Here's to another great Bible Study! Be Blessed!
